Coordinator

Pronouns: She/Her

Britney Smith is the Office & Reentry Support Coordinator at Women on the Rise. Britney was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and also spent a significant amount of her childhood living in Austin, Texas. Britney is a mother of 3 children. Britney has been personally impacted by Georgia's county jail systems creating the empathy and compassion for social justice she has today. Following battles with addiction and cycles of repeating periods of incarceration over the course of 10 years; Britney leaned on her faith to transform her mind, heal her soul, mature in spirit, and break the cycles, patterns, and mindsets that kept her bound to lifestyles and choices that kept her in a downward spiral of loss. Britney developed the belief that despite failures we can all be restored and time can be redeemed. Having to rebuild, reestablish, and restart numerous times in life empowered Britney to bounce back from any setback.

Britney briefly studied political science at Howard University for 2 years and Business Economics at Georgia State University for 1 year. Britney has extensive work experience in the finance and real estate fields. Her education, work and life experience cumulatively created the resourcefulness in her that pushes her to not only find solutions for others but be a solution for others. Britney is passionate about providing outstanding support, insight, encouragement, and service to colleagues, members, and partners equally. Britney is thrilled to serve the justice-impacted community with all of her natural and God-given talents and abilities.
